It's the Holidays De-Stress!
Quick Tips for Enjoying December

You know what stresses me out this time of year? Everyone talking about how stressful the holidays are! I have decided to at least give you a few tips to a jollier season:

Don't overbook! ...personally I love overbooking. If you're like me, then be sure you have reasonable expectations and prepare in advance.

Stick to a Budget!
Overspending at Christmas time is one of the greatest contributors to stress. Plan your budget and be creative if necessary-most people enjoy homemade gifts.

Count it all joy!
Choose not to let the scrooges of the season get to you! Count your blessings; give out joy and peace and that is what you will get back...if you don't, be happy that you're the Jolly one.

Create a New Tradition!
If a traditional way of doing something in your family causes you stress change it and create a new tradition. I talk to women who don't even know where or when a tradition began, yet they are stressing themselves carrying it out. A friend of mine and her family decided they equally hated turkey and no longer wanted that as their holiday meal. Their Christmas dinner? Steak and Lobster.

Take Care of Yourself!
The holidays are certainly no fun if you're sick (or just sick and tired) so remember to eat right (as often as possible) and get good sleep.

Remember the Reason!
Celebrate whole heartedly. God already gave the most important gift. His Son!!!!


Keep Your Resolutions
...yes, really

Every year people make New Year's Resolutions and every February or March most people have given up. Hiring a Life Coach is a great way to identify what you really want out of life, developing a plan and going for it. I will not only coach you I will even be a cheerleader. Goals are easier to achieve if you have them written down and written correctly; where they are attainable, specific and you know when you've reached it. Accountability partners are a great help as long as you are truly accountable and committed. Having a monthly (or more) reminder of the importance of your goal may be a subscription to a fitness magazine to have that refresher every month, sites like Hallmark will even send you email reminders for events and your event could be budget day. There is no better time of year than December to embrace the concept of Celebrate Along the Way. Enjoying each and every day and savoring the moments on your journey to Christmas. Remember to do at least one or two of the wonderful experiences only December can bring!

Attend a child's Christmas program, Put out your nativity, Listen to Handel's Messiah, Spend an evening sipping cider with only the light of the Christmas tree, drive through neighborhoods to enjoy the lights, drink an Eggnog Latte', Buy candy canes for co-workers, watch The Muppets Christmas Carol and It's a Wonderful Life, take holiday treats to a retirement home, purchase gifts for a child in need, and start a new tradition! Have a blessed Christmas!
